This dance is considered a sacred dance to welcome Ida Betara Betari (God) who is willing to go down to a shrine that is undergoing a traditional ceremony to accept the offerings and then give prosperity to the people. Each region in Bali has a distinctive makeup, both clothing and head-wear. Especially in the Karangasem area there are more than 20 types of Rejang Dance that wear different unique decoration.
