Kicking off on Bali’s south west tip with Uluwatu’s 10th century Pura Luhur temple, the high cliff tops and views out over the sea provide stunning photos and are the perfect vantage point for viewing Bali’s majestic sunsets. Noted not only for its enviable location, Uluwatu is also home to Pura Uluwatu, one of Bali’s oldest temples. Watch Kecak Dance, one of the legendary dance on sunset that begins at 6 p.m. Moving onto Jimbaran, the stunning bay with crystal waters and multi-colored boats moored along the shore add to the charm of this fishing village. Here you can dine at one of the many traditional waterfront seafood restaurants serving delicious meals sourced from Bali’s biggest seafood market offering the widest range of fresh seafood available anywhere in Bali.
Jimbaran Bay Dinner
Precariously located at the point of sheer cliff on the island’s southern peninsula. It is one of the oldest and most important temple in Bali. Travelers rave about Uluwatu Temple’s stunning cliff-side locale and beautiful architecture. Perched on a steep cliff 70-metres above the roaring Indian Ocean – is what makes this place a sight to behold.
|Watch Kecak Dance
On the cliff adjacent to the temple, one of Bali’s most memorable Kecak Dance performance can be witnessed on sunset that begins at 6 p.m. A group of 60 men dressed only in sarongs and red hibiscus tucked behind the ears, swarm onto the circular open air stage. Be prepared, the performance involves loud chants of “cak, cak, cak” – a sound you won’t be forgetting anytime soon.
|Seafood Dinner at Jimbaran Bay
Sitting at your table in the sand, with the lively atmosphere around and the ocean in front of you is not to be missed. Expect a simple yet very Balinese fare of freshly caught seafood, spiced and marinated to the island’s culinary traditions, and grilled over coconut husks. We love the rather romantic atmosphere – savour your food by candles and moonlight, and listen to the soft crash of waves. This is island living at its most authentic!
